Daily Oral English: Conversation Starters
October 9, 2007 by Martha Rankin
If you are looking for some conversation starters and reading comprehension activities, this website may just be what you need to get your students listening, talking and learning together. We share to impart, impact, improve and empower! Read on. Lead on!One of our MUSD Adult Education advanced ESL teachers, Carlos Alcazar, pointed us to Daily ESL: Conversation Starters for English Students.
He writes, “This site is great because it has clear audio and a script for the listening activities.”
This site is organized by ESL topic. The lessons have three parts:
Part 1: Listen and Read: Read along with the audio recording
Part 2: Discussion
Part 3: Online Investigation
Each lesson also includes online listening practice on the presented topic. Listening practices are from www.esl-lab.com.

This is a dictionary with pronunciation that can be
heard through your classroom speakers. Students can
also use this site at home if they have internet access.
The proper website is:

Thanks, Martha! I really like the focusenglish.com site for conversation starters. The conversations sound genuine. Other teachers might want to check it out!
